A conversation with Mojo

I was talking to Mo the other day.  Our conversation was just general stuff about what's going on, church stuff and the like.  I told him about the blog and how it was being received.  I told him about some of the responses I got from people when I told them about the blog.  I explained to him how people would say "Oh!! Yea! I remember Mojo,  Mojo was the man! and the two most said remarks were "tie a knot and keep hanging and  Don't say damn say whoa!!.

One encounter stood out to me. It took place when I was in the Southfield library using the computer.  There was a woman sitting next to me using the computer next to mine.  I politely asked, "Excuse me Miss do you remember the Electrifying Mojo and the Midnight Funk Association"  She said, "Yes, who doesn't".  She went on to tell me about how every time her family gets together for a birthday, holiday or some other special family type event; her brother always insist on playing the old Midnight Funk Association shows he recorded on cassette back in the the 80's and 90's.  I would consider her brother a loyal, commited fan to still be playing CASSETTES of old shows from over 20 to 30 years ago!!  I gave her the blog information and I hope to hear from her brother soon.

Do you remember Kraftwerk, the European Techno music group?  Well, in my conversation with Mojo he told me about a New York Times article written about them in the music section December 2009.  I read it and it gives a shout out to Mojo and how he influenced how people became aware of them in the U.S. 

Finally, when it comes to looking up information on the Internet I use Google 100% of the time.  However on Mojo's suggestion I searched Electrifying Mojo and Midnight Funk Association on Bing.  I have to admit I found some information which does not show up on Google.  I don't know why.  Non-the-less as a result of the search, I will have some good stuff in my next post.
